Leaping into Literacy: Strategies to Boost Instructional Support

Description: Language, vocabulary, read-alouds, writing…OH MY! Educators can sometimes struggle to find the common thread between each of these essential skills and executing essential strategies to provide high quality literacy skills. In this session we will highlight strategies that support educators in exploring how to effectively apply tips and instructional strategies that could help increase CLASS scores.

Objectives:

  • Understand the developmental milestones of language and literacy.
  • Analyze classroom environments and develop a plan to enhance a child’s language and literacy skills through meaningful and intentional experiences.
  • Identify components and materials from the Frog Street curriculum and see how implementing the curriculum with fidelity creates a natural setting for meaningful literacy development skills.
  • Analyze current classroom structure through the CLASS lens.
