Family, School, Community and Collaboration is about ensuring that we are empowering families to support family well-being, children’s learning and development, considering families’ cultural and ethnicity in their settings. This session will provide participants strategies to support and empower families to be their child’s first and most important teacher to help children be school ready. In this session, participants session will understand the impact of building strong relationships with families, investigate strategies for family engagement to support children's learning and development and will reflect on their current practices along with newly acquired knowledge with consideration to building effective collaborative partnerships with families and the community. Objectives: Participants will develop an understanding of how to create a relationship-based culture that supports family partnership while considering that of the families they work with. Participants will identify strategies for facilitating family participation to empower them for child’s school readiness. Participants will brainstorm and list activities and events to encourage families to be active participants to help their children success in their education.
