Children are not the same as they were before COVID-19 and neither are we. In early learning settings across the country, teachers are noticing changes: higher anxiety, emotional dysregulation, difficulty with routines, and an increase in challenging behaviors. This interactive session explores what’s behind these shifts, connecting them to the science of stress, trauma, and resilience. Together, we’ll unpack how prolonged uncertainty and social disruption have shaped young children’s development and relationships. Participants will learn how trauma-informed approaches can transform classrooms into places of healing and safety. The session will provide developmentally appropriate, evidence-based strategies that help educators respond with empathy, connection, and consistency—so every child feels seen, safe, and capable of success.
